We have a culturally rich, diverse population; the artistic payoff is one of the Caribbean's most vibrant art scenes.
The Academy of Fine Arts & Design which is located in a meticulously refurbished historical building in downtown Oranjestad, offers a curriculum designed to educate students on various disciplines—including photography, film, animation, sculpture, drawing, painting, 3-D, architecture, and sound, while also preparing them for the rigors of studying art on the university level.
At Ateliers ‘89 Arubans and visiting, students experience an orientation to contemporary applied art and design. Workshops in various disciplines include painting, installations, video art, photography, fashion, graphic design, ceramics, and more. Established local and visiting international artists conduct workshops that culminate in an exhibition for the public.
Da Vinci Academy offers the opportunity to Aruba’s youth to explore their creative instincts at this after-school academy offering classes in various art disciplines, as well as dance, theatre, and music lessons.
In addition to these established schools, our Cas di Cultura (House of Culture) offers periodic workshops and art fairs, as well as dance, music, and theatre courses.
